Aburi Restaurants Canada Ltd., which manages Aburi (sear-flamed style) sushi restaurant ‘Miku’ (1055 West Hastings St.) at the west end of Vancouver, will open ‘Minami’ as a second ‘Miku’ restaurant this summer. It will take over a restaurant in Yaletown ‘Gold Fish’ (1118 Mainland St.), which will be closed at the middle of this month.

Miku has served a variety of aburi-style sushi since the opening year, 2008. Local people enjoy sushi as one of the representative restaurants in Vancouver. The announcement of the opening in Yaletown, where many high-end restaurants are located, causes high expectation among local food media.

An owner Seigo Nakamura says, ‘The concept image of Minami is a beautiful wave. Thanks to the former restaurant Miku, Minami is here. I want people to enjoy our meals and service of hospitality which will make them feel happy when they look at gentle and beautiful wave under a beautiful sky.’ They serve aburi sushi and fusion cuisine as main dishes as well as Miku. He also says, ‘New seafood brands, which they only enjoy at Minami, will be ready. I want them to look forward to the brands.’

The restaurant is set up to have ‘a lot of entertainment,’ e.g. not only a dining restaurant but also a bar restaurant ‘to serve valuable brand food with drinking casually’ and VIP room.

He shows enthusiasm, ‘I want to work toward the best restaurant which people in this town love, need, and to live up to Miku brand as one of the restaurants to take the best step to achieve world brand for my big desire.
